What is Body Evolution
Body Evolution is a dynamic fitness training company. With over a decade of personal training experience I decided to take my passion for fitness to the next level and have established myself as one of the top personal trainers in the Louisville area!
After training at some of Louisville’s top fitness facilities I decided to take my passion for fitness to the next level and start providing results oriented fitness training for busy adults that want to be in the best shape of their life.
I am a nationally recognized Certified Personal Trainer by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and a member of IDEA Health & Fitness association, a well-respected organization within the fitness industry, I am also CPR/AED certified.
My advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics has benefited hundreds of clients throughout the Louisville area! I am well versed in a variety of disciplines however my specialties lie within weight loss management, lean mass gains, and helping diabetics manage their disease and hve even reversed several Type 2 diabetics.
I continually educate myself to ensure I continue to be one of the top fitness professionals in the industry! I am constantly studying books, DVDs and attending seminars to better myself as your personal fitness trainer.
Who Is Body Evolution For?
While my program is not designed for body builders, I myself – am an NPC ( National Physique Committee) competitor.
I tell you this because when it come to dieting, and things get rough – YES I do understand the difficulties and frustrations involved with a structured nutrition and fitness program.
When I first started seriously training I was 24 years old and only weighed 135 pounds. Whereas I started on the extremely small or skinny side versus many of my clients, psychologically I think the frustrations are very similar. When one is not 100% confident in who they are physically, they tend to sell themselves short in many other aspects of life.
This and the fact that my wife has battled weight issues her entire life, have made me very relate able to all my clients but more particular women that have weight loss goals .
Much of fitness, weight loss and sticking to a structured exercise program is so psychological, there will be many times a client simply needs a sincere open ear and talk instead of that days workout. I’ve gotten very good at that . And I enjoy the mental break troughs when we do.
A little about my Wife, Misty and I.
While my wife Misty, has never been a “skinny” person ( neither would either of us like her to be “skinny”) when her younger brother passed, she did gain great deal of weight and she found herself the heaviest she had ever been. Her mourning process turbulent, stressful, full of anger and littered with depression.
Once she realized how she had allowed this experience to nearly destroy her, her determination was amazing as she brought herself back to life and began participating in one of our large group training sessions 3-4 times per week. Those 3-4 one hour training sessions per week, coupled with a written nutritional program I designed for her resulted in an over 90 lb weight loss in ONLY 8 months.
A little about me… Walt……
Typically, when someone begins a structured nutrition or fitness program it is initiated from a point of pain, sadness or emotion.
I mean really, how many of us begin a program truly ONLY to be healthy and fit, From my experience there is typically an emotion attached to it…. I am sick of being UGLY, or FAT, or in my case TOO SKINNY, and YES that is a real issue for those that struggle with it.
It is all about self perception or worth, it doesn’t quite matter why, the good thing is that one of the side effects is that you will ALSO become healthier, more fit and extend your lifespan.
I was that very small skinny kid. We were very poor and I had copper red hair as I was growing up
If you were not overly skinny you likely will not get it, but the stress, lack of self esteem, and gettign picked on as a kid was very prevalent and equally hurtful to a young person.
While I was an athlete in high school, ALL State in Track & Field, I didn’t really begin strength training til my mid twenties.
This was me when I was about 24/25 years old.
Very skinny, but this pic doesn’t really even show the worst, as I had already been training hard for about 6 months, as is why I have this “progress” pic.
Just like most others, I started training to fix myself. There were things I didn’t like and quite frankly to me a “MAN” must weigh at least 200 pounds.. I know that goofy but ….it is true.
I could careless now what the reasons were. O so know that once I began training on a structured program my progress skyrocketed and I truly changed inside and out, and I am the MAN I am today because of my fitness training.
Don’t get me wrong, I am one of the most sincere, compassionate people I know, the confidence I have gained from a life of training has given me the perspective that I can achieve anything I set my mind too. Ok, enough with the cheesy stuff.
The following two photos are not meant to brag, but to simply demonstrate the obstacle I over came and I know you can too. So when it comes to that difficult diet struggle I mentioned earlier, and I talk you through the hard moments and tell you I UNDERSTAND……you can truly know that I do understand and have been there as well.
